An early start for this one, as members Mark, Glen, Mark C and Lewis left Tricky's at 3.30am and headed North to the NEC.
With the roads being very quiet, we made good time and were soon at the Premier Inn Worcester for breakfast, which Glen had pre–booked. Once fed and watered we were on the road again and arrived at the NEC for 8.30am.
Doors opened 9.00am and for the first hour it was really quiet and easy to move about, but by mid-morning it was very busy.
There were some great cars on display and something for everyone but we were soon in the Ford section, where my favourite was a green Capri RS3100 - £75,000 anyone?
The autojumble wasn’t as big this year, however but we did manage to pick up a few items. The Silverstone auction was again the place to sell, we looked at an Escort RS2000 and it was tidy, but not mint and that sold for £47,300. Then we watched some rare Subaru Impreza make £203,000 and didn’t make reserve – crazy I know but earlier in the day we bumped into Dave Bolton from Autospray and he was saying that during lockdown Escorts and Capris have gone up 40% in value.
As we were leaving around 5.00pm we spotted Spitfire Motoring products who produce lead balls, which can be used with E10, so myself and Glen bought some.
A great Show and hopefully next year we can make it a weekend.
