Friday

Members Mark (myself) Steve, John, Winston and Paul all rocked up to Trevornick, Holywell Bay to set up our Classic Ford Show field for our big weekend. The weather was glorious and was set to continue for the whole weekend. I even made a last-minute call to Lawrence Reed on Radio Cornwall to promote our Show.

After a hard day Winston and Paul headed home while Steve, John and myself made our way to the Treguth Inn for a well-earned pint and some great food, once there we met Jerry and his family who were also camping.

Saturday

We woke to a beautiful morning, after a good old fashion breakfast, we put up some final signs. We soon had Cars arriving for our Classic Ford Run, which was to start at 1.00pm. A total of 30 Classic Fords left Trevornick camp site and headed to Perranporth, St Agnes, Porthtowan, Portreath, then our first stop, Hells Mouth Café for a welcomed ice cream. We then carried on to St Ives, Gulval, then our second stop at KFC, Longrock. After a 30 minute break, we then circled  Penzance and headed back to Trevornick.

A massive thank you to Jeremy and Chris for organising a fantastic car run. Saturday evening was spent chilling out with a beer, we had Singer/guitarist Jamie Gifford playing who was brilliant, but people camping numbers were slightly down on last year.

Sunday

An early start and another beautiful morning as we woke 5.00am and watched the sunrise! With a welcomed coffee, it was then time to clean our cars after the car run the previous day. Before we did much else Traders and the 1st Classic Fords started to arrive. It was then full on to about 11.00am when over 140 Classic fords had passed through the gate.

The field looked great with our Club and the Escort 50th display in the in the centre, classics one side and modern on the other. We had 11 traders,  with most doing quite well.

This we think, was our best show yet, with the more cars, traders, visiting public and of course the weather played a big part.

Amongst the winners were:

Best Escort: David Coleman Escort Mk1 RS1600

Best Club: RSOC Devon Group

Car of the Show: Jeremy Hookway Escort Mk2 RS2000.

We are pleased to announce that we have raised £1000 for our chosen charities. The money will be split between Cornwall Blood Bikes and Cornwall Ostomy Support.

Finally a big thank you to all club members who helped throughout the weekend.
