Wow, what a great weekend!
Friday evening, myself and Julie loaded our car and caravan and headed to Penhallow. We couldn’t believe how many motorhomes, caravans and campers that were already there, Martin and his family were already set up, so once we had fetched the Capri and Zoe our border collie we were all set as this was going to be a going to be a great weekend.
Friday evening was spent watching the amazing sunset and chilling...
Saturday
We woke up early to a fine day and once fed and watered, Martin and myself made our way to our Club stand area where we met members Glen (who was camping Saturday) Adrian and Ray. We were also joined by James Rigby with a Capri Mk1 3000 GT and a Capri 280 Brooklands. Earlier I helped Julie set up in the craft tent where she was selling a wide range of craft Items. Around 1pm I entered Zoe into the Fun Dog Show, where I’m pleased to say she won best Female. As the weather was getting hotter a hat was needed on my head and an ice cream in our hands, we were able to look around at some cracking cars on display including a mint RS2000 which the owner had recently purchased. Saturday evening was spent with Martin and Glen watching the excellent band – ‘Jukebox Protocol’ and a few beers were had.
Sunday
Again an early start and a welcomed cooked breakfast to start the day. It was again a very warm day and there were a lot more vehicles on display. We were joined by club members Keith, Nick, Ben, Mark C, Jerry, Jack and Ray. Fords again were well represented including a pair of Mk1 & Mk2 Lotus Cortinas and the red RS2000 that was mentioned earlier, won Best Car. There was entertainment all day in the show ring with some great games for the kids, including tug-o’-war with a tractor. We have hopefully gained 2 new members who showed interest in joining. We would like to thank all at K.O.V.C for a fantastic show – we can’t wait for next year!
